Penza, 16 January 2013. PenzaNews. Photo album “Penza. Leafing through an old album... Photos of 1860–1910,” put together by Igor Shishkin, was published for the 350th anniversary of the city, which will be celebrated in 2013.

According to the press service of the regional department of culture and archive, the pictures published in the photo album were gathered from private collections and funds of the local history museum and state archive of the Penza region.

“The photographs of famous Penza authors captured provincial town in different moments of its life. The main feature of the album is the people of different strata, who glorified Penza,” the press service explained in an interview with news agency “PenzaNews.”

The department added that the album could be purchased at the Penza museum of local history.

“It will be interesting to everyone: scholars, and students, as well as simply those who care about the history of their native city,” the press-service pointed out.
