According to the representative of the cultural institution, during the restoration work, both the inside and the outside look of the house were left unchanged.

“The reconstruction was performed by Saratov Company “Stroy-City.” In 2012, the facade of the house, roof, foundation, ceiling, and floor were renewed, and stairs — equipped with ramps,” the agency interlocutor said, adding that this year the exposition, created earlier, was partially restored as well.

“The memorial house depicts the atmosphere, which surrounded the future historian from early childhood. We recreated life of that time — installed benches, a closet, a shelf with clay and metal dishes, utensils. Rare items of the house of Klyuchevsky are carefully preserved — wall clock with chimes, inkwell, stile strip of a window,” the representative of the museum commented.

He noted that the visitors can also observe the icons, including “The Dormition of the Virgin,” which was restored in 2012 at the expense of the federal target program “Culture of Russia.”

“The new exposition also includes personal things of V. Klyuchevsky — silver glass holder and spoon donated by the doctor of historical sciences, the researcher of scientific legacy of the great historian Raisa Kireyeva. In addition, the exposition presents the works of V. Klyuchevsky, including the publication of the famous “Course of Russian History” in Russian, Ukrainian and Japanese,” the agency interlocutor pointed out.
