“The event will be organized for the 42nd time. As a theme of the event, we chose one of the poet’s lines: “The Russian people — this multi-armed titan...” The visitors of the reserve will see the world of the peasants of the times of Mikhail Lermontov with their everyday work, holidays, games and entertainment,” the representative of the cultural institution told news agency “PenzaNews.”
He noted that the museum would be open from 8.30.
“During the day, near the house of a key-keeper and Barsky pond, there will be workshops for vintage crafts of Tarkhany — on pottery, belt knitting, herbal doll-charm making. Creative groups will perform in Bugor St. And everyone who is willing to recite Lermontov’s poems will be welcome near the poet’s monument,” the agency interlocutor added.
According to him, the official part of the event will begin at 11:30 am with the laying of flowers at the grave of the poet.
“Creative meeting with writers and artists in “Green Theatre” and the ceremony of M. Lermontov’s award are scheduled at 12.00. It is expected that the guests of the celebration will be the national artists of Russia Lyudmila Ryumina and Andrei Sokolov, the winners of international contests Sergei Sheremet and Eugeny Yuzhin, poets Andrei Dementyev, Yuri Kublanovsky and Olesya Nikolaeva,” the representative of the State Lermontov Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany” commented.
