Penza, 9 July 2013. PenzaNews. The opening of a personal exhibition “Echo of Soul” by the Indian artist Utpal Barua will be held at the museum of contemporary art, located in the hotel resort “Chistye Prudy” in Mokshansky area, the Penza region, next Friday, July 12.

“Utpal Barua is a professor of the Indian Institute of Technology, the winner of Olympic gold medal in Fine Arts 2008, a gold medal of Art Biennale in 2012, a participant of over 40 exhibitions, the winner of several prestigious national art awards and scholarships. Since June 1, he worked for “Chistye Prudy” in the framework of art residence program. The paintings created during that time will be presented at his first personal exposition website,” the press secretary of the Center of Contemporary Art in Penza Yuliya Serebriakova.

She added that in his work Utpal Barua reflects the spiritual crisis of our time and is trying to overcome it with the images he created and his artistic language.
