Penza, 14 August 2013. PenzaNews. Penza regional Philharmonic and Concert hall will be merged into a single entity by 2014. This was stated by the head of culture and archive of the region Evgeny Shilov in an interview with news agency PenzaNews on Wednesday, August 14.

He noted that the new structure with the working title “Regional cinema and concert association” would be the largest cultural institution in the Penza region.

“The total area of its premises will be 35 thousand square meters. For comparison, the area of the Drama Theatre named after A. Lunacharsky is less than 15 thousand square meters,” he said.

According to Evgeny Shilov, a similar concert association exists in Tambov, and Penza experts already got acquainted with the specifics of the work.

The head of culture and archive of the region also explained that due to the formation of a new legal entity, the institution is looking for candidates who could manage such a strong association.

“We consider two options: relying on local staff and appoint Penza employee “for growth,” or finding a mature specialist who would manage this work,” he said, noting that the decision requires no haste, so the appointment will be, most likely, after the celebration of City Day.

“We have got time. A new entity with the new staff and the head will start its work by 1 January 2014,” he added.

He also said that the grand opening of Concert hall and Philharmonic would be held only after settling all the formalities and commissioning the buildings under construction.
