Penza, 10 September 2013. PenzaNews. The sculpture park “Legenda” participating in a multimedia project “Russia 10” deserves to gain popularity outside the country in the year of the 350th anniversary of Penza. This opinion was expressed by the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev during his visit to the regional attraction on Tuesday, September 10.

“It only depends on our participation in the vote of “Russia 10” project. I ask my countrymen to devote some attention to “Legenda” not only as a park, but as a point of popularity growth of our beloved homeland – the Penza region,” said the head of the region.

He expressed his gratitude to businessman Konstantin Volkov – the president of the international festival of contemporary art and creative technology, the participants of which create sculptures that replenish the park “Legenda.”

“This is a man who makes a profit and does not send money abroad, but invests in culture, art, creativity,” Vasily Bochkarev said.

According to the governor, the sculpture park “Legenda” has already taken its place among the cultural sites of the planet.

“Artists and sculptors from around the world come to Penza every year. Moreover, they are carefully selected to be able to leave their creation in the park. It’s great,” he emphasized.

Vasily Bochkarev also introduced the idea of further development of the sculpture park “Legenda.”

“It should have “branches” in different cities and areas of the Penza region. After a couple of years we should work out such a project at the expense of the regional budget in order these sculptures were all over the region and local residents were able to get acquainted with modern art,” said the head of the region.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the sculpture park “Legenda” in Mokshansky area, the Penza region, was among the 30 finalists for the “Russia 10” contest. The final vote resumed on Tuesday, September 10. As of 19.00 Moscow time, Penza “Legenda” takes 21st place – more than 50 thousand people gave their votes for the park.

According to the new rules of the project, the voting will continue until 12.00 Moscow time, October 6. The organizing committee set the limit for the entire duration of the finals in the form of one message from one phone number.

Equal winners of the “Russia 10” project will be ten leading objects.
