Penza, 23 October 2013. PenzaNews. The head of culture and archive of the Penza region Evgeny Shilov shared this opinion with news agency “PenzaNews.”

He gave an example of the movie and concert hall, the construction of which is finishing at the intersection of Nekrasov and Suvorov Streets in Penza.
“The movie and concert hall with the square of 15 thousand square meters is very spacious and is capable to seat 1,600 people. Every actor able to catch spectator’s attention can work here,” the agency interlocutor said.
He also said that unlike the Philharmonic, where academic and folk genres are at the heart and the staff of the establishment performs on stage, the movie and concert hall would be oriented on selling its capacity to organizations for them to organize different mass events.
“It could be films, theatre performances, shows, ballet, circus, music or any other art,” the head of culture and archive department added.
With that, he remarked that the halls, seating more than 1 thousand people, are in the greatest demand with the organizers.
“Previously only Penza Drama Theatre named after A. Lunacharsky had such a hall, now it will appear in the culture and leisure center in Lenin Street, which was also reconstructed in the lead-up to the 350th anniversary of Penza. In this building, the stage is now equipped with a truck, which will allow to conduct not only concerts, but musical performances too. Thus, the Culture and Leisure Centre and the Drama Theatre will compete not only with each other, but also with the movie and concert hall and the Philharmonic,” the agency interlocutor clarified.
Answering the question of the correspondent of news agency “PenzeNews,” whether the offers could exceed the inquiries, Evgeny Shilov was confident to say that each stage as well as each guest or local actor would find their spectators.
“For example, Peter Mamonov has visited Penza recently. He performed in the hall “Molodezhny” with 450 seats, but the hall was full, people took chairs from classrooms to see the performance of the favorite actor,” the head of culture and archive of the Penza region said.
He added that the sites built in honor of the 350th anniversary would allow inviting not only famous performers, but also film actors, poets, politicians and other significant people, whose activity provokes genuine interest among local residents.
