“The exhibition is unique. The point is that Solzhenitsyn “in color” simply does not exist. Then, back in 1960s, color photography was not developed, and color slides on reversible German film, made while travelling, were popular. Then these slides were shown to guests either on stretched sheets or just on a white wall,” the organizer of the exhibition Nikolai Ledovskikh told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He added that after the death of Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s first wife Natalia Reshetovskaya , there was found her archive with such slides, which were then digitized.

“It was decided to hold the exhibition, first of all, in those cities that are somehow connected with Alexander Solzhenitsyn. In Penza he spent whole five days – from 1 to 5 September 1995,” the agency interlocutor said.

Nikolai Ledovskikh also remarked that after Penza the exhibition will be presented in Samara and then – in Voronezh.
