House of Maria Kiseleva added to state register of objects of cultural heritage of Russia

Penza, 30 January 2014. PenzaNews. The house at the intersection of Krasnaya and Chkalova Street in Penza, where philanthropist Maria Kiseleva lived, was included in the state register of cultural heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the Russian Federation.

The corresponding decree was signed by the governor of the regional government Vasily Bochkarev.

The philanthropist, who lived in the XIX century, collected money which was used to build the temples in Jerusalem and the Penza region, including a former seminary, where the building of the Penza State University No. 1 is currently situated.

A memorial plaque was unveiled in December 2012 at the house where Maria Kiseleva lived.

And in September 2013 at Holy Transfiguration Monastery of Penza, a chapel-tomb of nobles Maria and Alexander Kiselevs was opened.
