Penza, 13 March 2014. PenzaNews. Discussion of the results of work in 2013 was the main topic of the extended meeting of the department of culture and archive of the Penza region held in the library named after M. Lermontov on Thursday, March 13.

During the meeting presentations were made by the head of culture and archive of the region Evgeny Shilov, his deputy Kirill Zastrozhnov, the head of the protection of cultural heritage and archives Sergei Mushtakov-Lentovsky and the head of the department of tourism Alexei Ukolov.

According to the data announced, the average salary of employees of cultural institutions of the Penza region in 2013 reached 12,300 rubles, which is 59,5 % of the average salary in the region and exceeds the plan by 3,4%.

Last year, the renovation of two facilities of federal significance was completed — the building of Penza Art College named after K. Savitsky which cost over 111 million rubles, and the museum of literature — over 27 million rubles.

The opening of two buildings of autonomous public institution of culture “Penzakontsert” — Regional Philharmonic (over 2 billion rubles) and concert hall “Penza” ( nearly 900 million rubles) — was called significant.

323 thousand people attended concert and entertainment events organized by the institutions of professional art. These services covered 24% of the population. And various exhibitions were visited by 328 thousand people.

Among the significant events of 2013 are also Russian Library Congress, which was held on May 12-17 in Penza.

According to the participants of the meeting, the region continued to work on preservation of cultural heritage. In particular, large-scale restoration was held in nine of cultural objects.
