Penza, 15 April 2014. PenzaNews. A great concert of the symphony orchestra directed by Valery Gergiev will be held in the concert hall “Penza” on Wednesday, May 7.

Classical music festival will be held as a part of Moscow Easter Festival.
“This is the first concert of the symphony orchestra directed by Valery Gergiev in the Penza region. Repertoire is the following: symphony by Stravinsky, concerto for cello and orchestra by Haydn, the first concerto for piano and orchestra by Chopin. The performance will be concluded with a suite from the ballet “The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky,” the deputy head of the department of culture and archive of the Penza region Kirill Zastrozhnov informed during a meeting with reporters on Tuesday, April 15.
He added that this concert will be a gift for the true connoisseurs and fans of symphonic music.
“It may be called unique. Two young soloists, exhibitioners of Spivakov Fund and the winners of a variety of European and world festivals — Anastasia Kobekina (cello) and Vladimir Petrov (piano). We will try to make Maestro Gergiev and his virtuosos of Mariinsky Theater symphony orchestra to enjoy their stay here,” Kirill Zastrozhnov said.
