The official Internet groups of the event have posts of gratitude expressed by the users to the organizers of this vibrant cultural event.

As acknowledged by the majority of participants of the festival, “Jazz May — 2014” became not only the biggest but also the most open, bright and positive event held in the region in recent years.

The success of the festival was largely due to a good choice of the place — a spacious area could accommodate everyone. At the same time, quite small green lawn did not become a problem for the audience. Everyone could find a place they liked — in the dancing area near the stage, on the benches, plastic chairs, on the playground or in the area for the master-classes.

Also many guests of the festival noted the absence of formal boundaries and limitations — the audience could freely come up to the stage to take photos of the artists and mingle with the musicians.

Thus, despite the apparent absence of a large number of police, the event was held in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere, without any vivid violations of public order.

Special atmosphere in Penza during these days was noted by the People's Artist of Russia Boris Frumkin, who performed at the festival with the orchestra named after Oleg Lundstrem.

“I am immensely pleased with what I see here. Beautiful area, people walk, listen to music,” he said.

Boris Frumkin added that, in his opinion, jazz is becoming more popular in Russia, and the audience is getting younger.

“Jazz is the art of living and therefore it is interesting. Youth lacks live music and live emotions. People are tired of rotation of the same people on our television,” the musician said.

The guests of the festival confirm these words by demonstrating active interest towards the bands-festival participants, and asking the organizers to publish the names of songs to get acquainted with the work of jazz bands.
