Exhibition “The Son of Russia” opened in Penza literary museum

Penza, 25 August 2014. PenzaNews. The exhibition titled “The Son of Russia,” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Vladimir Zastrozhniy, poet, Honored Worker of Culture of Russia, and honorary citizen of Penza, opened in the local literary museum on Monday, August 25.

It presents manuscripts, photographs and everyday objects related to the life and work of the famous author.

“Father is worthy of memory. He is, above all, a poet. A new sheet music book was published for this anniversary, which includes more than 20 songs. We have re-released a CD with his songs, his audio talent and lyrics. It has six new songs,” said Vladimir Zastrozhniy’s son Kirill Zastrozhnov, deputy chief of the department of culture and the archive of the Penza region.

He added that the Penza land has always been rich in talent, and people’s interest in the exhibition confirms this.

“We have people who will protect the nation from the hard radiation of savagery and barbarism. Life path of Vladimir Zastrozhniy is a nice, peculiar, good example for those who associate their lives with the culture, as well as those who are just learning the most important thing: to love their country, its people, be proud of them, give their talent for the benefit of all,” deputy chief of the department of culture and the archive of the region said.

Poems and songs in honor of Vladimir Zastrozhniy, as well as memories by poets, workers of regional cultural institutions and music schools were presented.

In addition, at the event, the results of creative competition “Son of Russia” were concluded. The competition was organized by the association of literary-memorial museum of the Penza region, and was held in three categories: “Poetic recitation,” “Musical creativity” and “Dancing.”

Certificates and gifts were presented to the representatives of the vocal ensemble Children music school No.4 and “Russkie napevy” [Russian melodies] of Penza, Nikolsk dancing ensemble “Impuls,” and the team of amateur art “Nizhnelomovsky folk theater.”

In addition, awards were given to teachers of theater department of Penza Art College and the Children's Art School “Vesna” [Spring] Tamara Sedova and Ludmila Orekhova, as well as students from Penza and Mokshan Maria Polyudova and Maria Simakova.
