Penza, 1 January 2015. PenzaNews. The Patriarchal choir of the Danilov monastery will perform in the Penza regional Lunacharsky Drama Theater on February 16.

Their concert, called “From heart to heart,” will feature Orthodox Christmas lent gospels, religious poetry, as well as military and folk songs.

Penza citizens will be able to hear long-lost religious music pieces that were banned during the Soviet times and left without performers during the newer years due to lack of skilled singers.

“A performance of a Patriarchal choir is always a noteworthy and festive day. They conquer the hearts of those who listen to them thanks to their unique style, soulful and sincere. The one-of-a-kind troop has earned the status of the subordinate choir of the residence of the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus. They see their mission in helping the public get acquainted with Russian church and folk legacy of 15-20th centuries,” the press service of the Penza diocese commented for PenzaNews agency.
