Alexander Griboyedov's 220th birth anniversary memorial meeting held in Penza

Penza, 29 January 2015. PenzaNews. A memorial meeting dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Griboyedov was held in Penza Belinsky Central City Public Library a part of the educational project “Constellation of literary names” on Thursday, January 29.

Its participants were the students of Penza Architecture and Construction College, students of Lyceum No. 52, artists of “The Voice of the Poet” theater, as well as teachers.
They learned interesting details from the life of the writer, state councilor, diplomat, composer and brave duelist. In addition, librarians told about temperament, character and habits of the author of the famous comedy “Woe from Wit.”
They also brought light into the little-known facts from the writer's biography. The participants of the festive meeting were reminded that the exact date of Alexander Griboyedov's birth is unknown, as well as the details of his death.
In addition, librarians have shared the information available about the true relationship of Alexander Griboyedov with young Alexander Pushkin, lifting the veil from the mystery as to who exactly was the prototype of Chatsky and how the relationship of the great writer and Georgian Princess Nina Chavchavadze developed.
The decoration of the evening became the performances of “The Voice of the Poet” theater of Yuliya Nikulina, Alexander Sterlikova and teacher of musical school No. 4 Yuliya Maksimova, who performed the famous “Griboyedov's Waltz.”
During the event, a book exposition devoted to the life and works of the writer, was presented to the visitors, as well as documentaries about him.
