It included productions from Picasso’s “Suite 347” – one of the most ambitious and explicit graphic series of the artist that received its title due to the amount of works drawn between March 16–October 5, 1968. These are mostly gravures inspired by various motives of circuis, corrida, theater and comedy, resulting in a massive series of pieces of erotic art filled with the artist’s sarcasm and humor.
The pictures at the expo were made in 1990–1992 using direct lithography from the 1968 originals with the permission and supervision from the descendants of Picasso themselves.
All 105 copies shown in Penza are certified as genuine by the French art gallery “Artfever.” They have undergone the expertise of the Russian Ministry of Culture and were individually documented.
The exposition will remain open until March 29.
