Famous Dutch organist Arjan Breukhoven performs in Penza

Penza, 3 April 2015. PenzaNews. A Dutch musician and jazz pianist Arjan Brekhoven will be performing at the Organ Room of the Penza Regional Philharmonic Hall on Thursday, April 16.

“The program, titled ‘Organ masterpieces from Bach to Gershwin,’ will feature both original compositions and arrangements of orchestral works by Claude Balbastre, Richard Wagner, Charles-Marie Widor, Astor Piazzolla, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Aram Khachaturian. The program includes compositions for organ solo, and duo with quartet,” the press service of the regional Department of Culture and Archive informed PenzaNews agency.

The ministry added that Arjan Breukhoven performs over 200 concerts every year.

“The churches of the Netherlands have recognized him as the official performer at the country celebrations. The musician is allowed to play the world’s largest organ in the Basilica of St. Patrick in Western Australia. He is also the honorary performer in the world famous Basilica of St. Peter in Vatican,” the press service said.
