Penza, 18 April 2015. PenzaNews. The organizers of the Jazz May festival on May 15-17 have prepared a very rich schedule for the Penza residents.

The two-day event will officially begin on Friday, May 15, at 17.00 at the square by the regional Philarmonic Hall, with a performance of “Express-band” led by Yuri Belonogov.

A Moscow jazz band “Open Strings” will perform together with the “Premyera” string quartet from Penza on the grand stage of the Philarmonic Hall at 18.30, followed by the frontman of “Billy’s Band,” renown musician Billy Novik, and leading St. Petersburg jazz musicians.

The open-air stage of the festival on Saturday, May 16, will feature performances of Penza groups from 14.00 to 18.00.

At 17.00, a Moscow jazz musician Vladimir Nesterenko will hold a one-hour organ program in the Philarmonic Hall.

A large performance of Zarechny’s Valery Dmitriev big band, “Saransk” big band and big jazz orchestra of Pyotr Vostokov from Moscow will begin at 18.30 at the “Penza” cinema and concert hall.

The Penza bands will once again take the open air stage from 14.00 to 18.00 on Sunday, May 18.

The organ stage of the Philarmonic Hall will present an organ jazz from Vladimir Khomyakov from 17.00 to 18.00

From 18.30 to 22.00, the big stage of the Philarmonic Hall will host a large performance by Yuri Belonogov’s “Express-band,” Alexei Becker’s Moscow quintet, and Igor Butman’s quartet.

The special guest of the Sunday evening will be the jazz singer Polina Zizak, well known to TV audience of the “Golos” project on Channel One.
