Penza, 27 April 2015. PenzaNews. Famous Russian conductor Valery Gergiev arrived in Penza on Monday, April 27.

The Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra under his direction will give two concerts in the city during the 14th Moscow Easter Festival that started on April 12 and will finish on May 9.
At the train station, the musician was welcomed by the Penza regional government chairman Mikhail Kosoy, head of the regional department of culture and archive Evgeny Shilov; deputy chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Valery Lidin; and “Penzaconcert” director Andrei Mamonov.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the guest accompanied by officials went to the Regional Philharmonic.
The concerts dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 175th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky will take place at 16.00 and 19.00.
