Penza, 22 June 2015. PenzaNews. A reader of the Lermontov Penza regional library Ekaterina Titova has donated a Grand Medical Encyclopedia in 29 tomes during the campaign “Bing a Book to the Library.”

The donated series is the third print of the encyclopedia issued in the 1970-s – 1980-s. The books are known to be one of the most respected sources of medical knowledge and were authored by the Soviet academic Boris Petrovsky.

Apart from the traditional theory and case studies, the tomes include information on molecular biology, genetics-related aspects of biophysics, medical cybernetics and bionics, clinical biochemistry, medical electronics and other sciences. The information greatly expands the understanding of the processes of many illnesses and help develop effective means of their treatment and prevention.

According to the website of the Lermontov Penza regional library, the encyclopedia includes color and monochrome inserts.
