Faroe Islands singer to hold concert in Penza on September 15

Penza, 10 July 2015. PenzaNews. Gudrid Hansdottir, a Faroese-Danish singer, will hold a concert at Frau Gross restaurant hall in Penza on Tuesday, September 15.

According to Anton Kovalsky, representative of the singer in Russia, she will perform the best songs from her four albums together with Bartal Augustinussen, keyboard and guitar player.

“Their music is a peculiar amalgamation of pop and rock music, breathtaking Nordic ballads, Skandinavian folk and country music,” he told PenzaNews agency.

Penza will be the sixth Russian city out of the fourteen the musicians plan to visit during their tour throughout the Federation, Anton Kovalsky added.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 19.00

Gudrig Hansdottir was born on October 6, 1980. Her native city is Torshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands – an autonomous country within the Danish kingdom.

The Faroese songwriter has released three solo albums and one mini album, Taking Ship, that was created in 2014.

According to Gudrid Hansdottir, she finds inspiration for her songs in Swedish pop music and the 70s rock, including Jethro Tull and Kate Bush.

In 2014, the musicians held a tour through Surgut, Perm, Ekaterinburg, and Ufa.
