Musician Victor Chekh’s farewell ceremony in Penza scheduled on today’s noon

Penza, 27 August 2015. PenzaNews. The farewell ceremony for Victor Chekh, jazz pianist, composer, teacher at the Penza children’s musical school No. 15, will take place at the ritual hall of the city hospital No. 4 on Svetlaya Street at 12.00 of Thursday, August 27.

The burial service will begin at about 13.30 in the St. Sergiy of Radonezh chapel on Karpinskovo street, the administration of the school told PenzaNews agency.
Victor Chekh will be buried on the Novo-Zapadnoye cemetery.
As PenzaNews agency informed earlier, the musician has passed away at night into August 25 in the emergency ward of the Penza Zakharyin clinical emergency hospital, where he was hospitalized two days before.
Victor (Pavlovich) Chekh was born in Buryatiya on January 30, 1946.
He graduated from the Irkutsk Arts College and the Novosibirsk Conservatory, and worked at the Penza children’s musical school No. 15 since 1993.
Victor Chekh received the laureate award of the Fifth all-Russian arts, science and theory works of cultural education institutions teachers, and the Penza region governor’s pension for high achievements in composing.
He wrote the score to eight plays of the Penza Lunacharsky Drama Theater and the Puppet House theater, as well as the schoolbook “The Jazz School” for grades 1-7.
Many of Victor Chekh’s students grew to become laureates of international festivals and contests.
