15th arts contest “Garnet Bracelet” winners rewarded in Penza

Penza, 5 September 2015. PenzaNews. The award ceremony of the 15th annual Penza region arts contest “Garnet Bracelet” dedicated to the birthday of the Russian writer Alexander Kuprin was held in the city’s literary museum on Friday, September 4.

Among the laureates were Alina Alexandrova with a short story series published in the literary magazine “Sura,” Victor Terentyev with a compilation “On the Way Home,” and Nikolai Zhidkov with the book “Many Things Happen At the Circus.” All of them received diplomas and presents.

Another award was given to Tatyana Yevnevich, director of the Penza region State Archive, for a booklet on the life and the works of Alexander Kuprin.

Irina Lebed, director of the Kuprin library in Simferopol, was praised for her book trailer “The Garnet Bracelet”; Polina Kozina, student of the Penza State University, also received the laureate’s diploma for the book trailer “The Daughter of the Great Barnum,” while Dmitry Tsarapkin was rewarded for his book trailers “The Victim of Fashion” and “The Blue Star.”

Moreover, Marina Tarasova received an award for production of the charity play “The Naked King” that gathered the funds for the Kuprin monument in the village of Narovchat.

The 2015 contest that took place in the Year of Literature and the 145th anniversary of Alexander Kuprin was held under the motto of the writer: “Literature is the most notable pendulum of the nation that telegraphs its life, its viability, even its immortality,” the press service of the Penza region Department of Culture and Archive informed PenzaNews agency.
