Actor Boris Tenin’s memorial plaque opens in Kuznetsk

Kuznetsk, 12 September 2015. PenzaNews. A memorial plaque to Boris Tenin, theater and film actor, People’s Artist of the USSR, laureate of the Stalin Award 1st degree, was unveiled in the city of Kuznetsk in the Penza region on the wall of the house where the actor had been living.

The unveiling ceremony featured such guests as Svetlana Kurepina, People’s Artist of Bashkortostan, film producer, member of the Russian Union of Theater Workers.

“I am proud of having been born in Kuznetsk, the original of many talented people like the great actor Boris Mikhailovich Tenin. Thank you, dear city, for remembering and honoring your people,” she added.

In his turn, the mayor of Kuznetsk Sergei Zlatogorsky stressed the fact that Boris Tenin became a landmark personality for the perennial generation.

“This man is one of such great actors as Lybov Orlova, Grigory Alexandrov. Their equal is our compatriot, a hidden jewel, who had what it takes to play roles in various styles. And the fact that we keep the historic thread that links us to the legacy is very good. […] It is our task to preserve the legacy of the people who made their native city famous,” the Kuznetsk administration chief said.

The memorial plaque was unveiled by the junior actors of the theater studio “Alt,” the press service of the city hall informed PenzaNews agency.
