Penza, 14 December 2015. PenzaNews. The actor Egor Koreshkov and the cinema historian Nikolai Izvolov will be the special guests invited to the 8th Ivan Mozzhukhin cinema festival “Men’s Role” that will be held in the Penza region on December 21-23.

The main film reel includes the movies that feature the best new men’s roles in Russian cinematography, such as Mikhail Ugarov’s “Brothers Ch,” Oleg Asadulin’s “Green Carriage,” Alexander Kotta’s “Insight,” Alexander Proshkin’s “Pastures of Heaven,” and Andrei Zaytsev’s “14+.”

The festival will also feature an evening screening dedicated to the works of Ivan Mozzhukhin.

Moreover, the audience will be able to enjoy the program “Heroes of Documentary Screen” – a feature film on Russian non-fiction portrait films.

In addition, the 8th festival “Men’s Role” will for the first time feature the new category, “Stars of International Cinema,” that will feature showings of the past years’ best men’s roles in films released throughout the world.

The Penza cinema festival will be taking part in the international campaign “Short Film Day,” with showings of the best recently released short films that follow the festival’s concept.

The partners of the festival are some of the largest Russian cinema companies and studios: “Real-Dakota,” “Sentyabr,” “Passazhir,” “Atlantic,” “Talan,” “Dva Kapitana,” “Risk,” the St. Petersburg Documentary Films Studio, “Studio 217” and more, as well as the youth center of the Russian Filmmakers Union. They have provided their films for the showings free of charge.

As per the tradition, the cinema forum will open in Kondol, the birthplace of the renown Russian film actor Ivan Mozzhukhin.

The official opening ceremony will take place in “Penza” cinema and concert hall.

Afterwards, the festival events will be held mainly in “Penza” cinema and concert hall, the literary museum, and the Penza arts college.

Visitors can watch the showings free of charge once they obtain invitation tickets in the relevant booking offices, the press service of the Penza region Department of Culture and Archive told PenzaNews agency.
