Penza to hold events dedicated to Klychevsky’s 175th anniversary

Penza, 19 January 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region will hold a series of events dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the historian Vasily Klychevsky.

Friday, January 22, will be the first working day of the exhibition “House of Russian History,” which is also dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Vasily Klyuchevsky Museum.
“Visitors will be able to learn about the history behind the opening of the museum, the routine work of the staff, and the museum’s plans for the future,” the press service of the Penza region Department of Culture and Archive informed PenzaNews agency.
According to them, the exhibition will feature items from both early and later years of the museum.
“A particularly notable exhibit is a set of items dedicated to Dr. Hist. Sc. Raisa Kireeva, leading research fellow of the Institute of Russian History of RAS, author of numerous materials on Vasily Klyuchevsky and active publisher of his works. Another section of the exhibition will be dedicated to cooperation between the museum and the Penza diocese. Some of the more interesting items are related to the visit of His Holiness Alexiy II Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the museum,” the department said.
In addition, visitors will be able to see photos of exhibitions and shows, as well as various events, held at the Vasily Klyuchevsky Museum, the press service added.
