Penza, 21 January 2016. PenzaNews. Petr Vostokov’s Big Jazz Orchestra will give a performance in “Penza” cinema and concert hall on March 6.

The Penza audience will be able to enjoy the program “Bowtie Jazz” dedicated to the March 8 celebration.
It will feature big band’s best beats over the five years of its existence, including lyrical ballads of the 1920s and the 1940s bebop.
The special feature of the program are vocal performances by soloists Darya Antonova, Pavel Ivanov, and other singers.
The concert begins at 19.00, says the website of “Penzaconcert.”
Petr Vostokov’s Big Jazz Orchestra blatantly rejects modern arrangements and uses only old instruments and original scores played by great big bands of the pasts to recreate the true sound of the early 20th century.
The orchestra regularly features with concert performances dedicated to such prominent jazz personalities as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Jimmie Lunceford, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Dizzy Gillespie, Boyd Raeburn and Claude Thornhill.
For several years through, the band frequently attended various Russian and international jazz festivals such as All Colors of Moscow Jazz, Jazz at the Hermitage Garden, Russian Stars of World Jazz, Koktebel Jazz Party, Beetlemania, and others.
In 2015, Petr Vostokov’s Big Jazz Orchestra took part in Jazz May musical festival in Penza.
