Virtual exhibition about Nikolai Karamzin opens in Penza
Penza, 2 May 2016. PenzaNews. The Lermontov Penza regional library has opened a virtual exhibition dedicated to Nikolai Karamzin, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the renown Russian historian and writer.
The exhibition outlines his prose works and articles, the pre-Soviet issues of “Letters of A Russian Traveler,” as well as research and literary notes and books published on Nikolai Karamzin’s 100th anniversary.
The main feature of the exhibition is his intra-vitam and later pre-Soviet issues of “History of the Russian State,” the largest work on national history. It took Nikolai Karamzin more than 20 years to finish it, and the author himself called “History of the Russian State” his “only job and main pleasure.”
