“We take pride in the fact that Mikhail Lermontov spent his best childhood years in the Penza land. We honor and treasure everything related to his life and work. You can see it in the ‘Tarkhany’ Museum-Reserve, in the largest Penza library that is named after the literary genius, and the eponymous public garden and street,” the city administration head noted.
According to him, the most valuable treasure left behind by Mikhail Lermontov are his immortal poems, which will be forever kept in Penza people’s hearts, and his true love for his country, which serves as an excellent example for the new generation.
“I congratulate Penza citizens with this great day, and wish us to see our native land in a new light on this Lermontov festival,” the press service of the Penza city hall quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
