Penza, 12 December 2016. PenzaNews. The 9th open Ivan Mozzhukhin cinema festival “Men’s role” will take place in Penza from 19 to 22 December. This was reported by the festival organizer, the director of the Penza branch of the Filmmakers Union of Russia Svetlana Starostina on Monday, December 12.

She noted that the festival will traditionally have the main programme, which includes six films, and the programme of non-fiction and short films.

“The opening and the closure of the festival will take place in the cinema concert hall ‘Penza’. The opening will feature the film ‘Good boy’, and the closure – the film ‘The find’. They are fiction films,” the interlocutor specified.

According to the film critic, apart from the named films, the organizers will also demonstrate the films “Joker”, “The Flight from Moskvabad”, “The Collector”, and “The Rag Union”.

“We selected even more films for the programme, but they will be shown next year if everything is alright,” Svetlana Starostina explained.

She emphasized that the admission will be free, but the visitors will need an invitation because the number of seats in the halls is limited – up to 1,600 in the cinema concert hall “Penza” and up to 160 – in the cinema “Vysshaya liga”.

“All invitations are distributed in the cinema halls,” the festival organizer said.

Svetlana Starostiva added that the participation of the festival honoured guests is undecided and still under discussion because of the lack of money to pay the fees.

“The cinema concert hall ‘Penza’ pays for the prizes and transportation. If the actors do not come, we will award the production team, those who will manage to come,” the interlocutor explained.
