The exhibition includes about 100 works of prizewinners and participants of the photo contest that has the same name as the festival.
According to the chairman of the Russian Geographical Society branch Igor Pantyushov, every day the festival "Original Russia" attracts more and more nature lovers.
In turn, the head of the internal policy department of the Penza region government Alexander Yelatontsev noted that the photos presented at the exhibition were made with love.
"The exhibition and the works might be so attractive because there are no people in the photos. There is nature and animals," he said expressing his hope that next year Penza photographers will be among the winners of the contest.
Gennady Belorybkin, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor and director of the PSU Constant Education Institute drew attention to the fact that it is extremely difficult for photographers to catch the right moment that would convey the feelings and the mood.
"When we look at these pictures, our mood changes, and we start perceiving the world and our own affairs differently," he noted.
The historian also shared his travelling experience.
"I can say that there are only a few places that have the same wonderful nature as our Penza region," the professor added.
Within the framework of the exhibition opening, the photographer Denis Kostryukov was awarded by the jury of the festival "Original Russia". He received a certificate and a book with photos. He urged Penza citizens to travel around Russian more, to love their native land and the country.
