“We decided to do so because of the participants of the festival. It is planned that this year three great singers will take part in the event – Dena DeRose, Alina Rostotskaya, and Mariam Merabova,” he said during the press conference that was held in the regional philharmonic on Wednesday, April 5.

Oleg Rubtsov emphasized the fact that each singer is a teacher.

“Mariam Berabova is a teacher in Alla Pugacheva’s school, she has a lot of students and followers. Dena DeRose is a professor in a number of European and American universities. […] All of them popularize jazz as it is and the right approach to singing including its jazz variety,” the festival producer explained.

He noted that it is planned that singing classes will be conducted on the day of each singer’s performance.

Oleg Rubtsov specified that soon Penza residents will know how they can get to these classes.

“Technically, it was not worked out in detail. It is important that we will be able to observe three different approaches to teaching, singing, sound producing, and work with lyrics. It is truly a unique story," the producer of the “Jazz May Penza” festival summed up.
