“All previous years we had a typical set of singers and songs in the festival programme, which I wanted to substitute by something different. This year, I am sure we will not have an ordinary programme. This time the programme will be absolutely incredible,” he said during the press conference that was held in the regional philharmonic on Wednesday, April 5.

He noted that there will be a few songs at the festival that the guests will hear for the first time.

“It is planned that one of the most progressive and outstanding Moscow jazz singers – Alina Rostotskaya – will present her new songs at the festival. Her ensemble “Jazzmobile” is a band of the European level. This was noted by critics at all festival, as well as by her colleagues. She will present her records collection entitled ‘Flow’, which was released last year,” Oleg Rubtsov explained.

According to him, the band "Electric Shock" will present its new programme within the framework of the festival.

"It will be a fusion programme. [...] We expect to have a crazy international team. It will consist of Hungarian musicians. [...] It will also include a well-known French drummer Nicolas Viccaro [...] and our fellow-citizen Anton Davidyants – a famous bass guitarist," the producer of the “Jazz May Penza” festival added.

He reported that the trio from Luxembourg "Dock in absolute" will present its new album that is planned to be released in April.

"It is wonderful and incredibly touching music from the very heart of Europe," Oleg Rubtsov emphasized.

According to him, the participant of the show "Golos" Mariam Merabova and "Express-Band" headed by Yuri Belonogov will also perform at the festival.

"And certainly, I would like to emphasize such fact as participation of Dena DeRose – a great pianist and singer who will perform on the day of the festival opening. She was three times nominated for a Grammy, and has nine albums. [...] She will be assisted by the Spanish trumpeter Reynold Colom and Jakob Okun – a multi-instrumentalist.
