"A week ago together with our enthusiastic colleagues we conducted a ground penetrating radar study in Sovetskaya square, former Sobornaya square. At the place where it was expected we found the corresponding anomalies. Yesterday I reported this to the governor Ivan Belozertsev. Together with the specialists [...] we are going to plan the work in order to find entrances to the tunnels to make some of their fragments accessible for tourists," he said at the meeting of the coordination council in tourism affairs under the regional government on Wednesday, September 27.
Andrei Kulintsev noted that it was necessary not only to find the entrances to the underground passages but also not to damage them when searching.
"This is one of the keystones, in my opinion, which can supplement the tourist network of Penza in a very interesting way," he added.
