Penza, 29 January 2018. PenzaNews. Over 20 million roubles are planned to be received for a large-scale restoration of the main building of the Penza Savitsky picture gallery constructed over 100 years ago. This was reported by the director of the cultural institution Kirill Zastorozhny.

"I am talking about allocation of funds from the reserve fund of President of the Russian Federation. As far as we are concerned – galleries, ministries of culture [of the region], the government of the Penza region – we have prepared the whole package of necessary documents. It passed examination several times, was checked both in Moscow and at the federal level. [...] We are waiting for confirmation that the funds from the reserve fund will be allocated," the interlocutor explained.

He added that in case of the allocation of the funds, the roof will be changed and the facade will be fully restored.

According to the gallery director, a draft application for electronic bidding has been prepared to determine a contractor with a special license that will take up restoration of the building.

"We had to change estimate documentation and expertise because in 2012 it had been done for complete overhaul. Over the years there has been a demand that buildings that are monuments of history and culture are subject to restoration only," Kirill Zastorozhny noted.

He reported that no strict deadlines within which an expert group should decide on the allocation of money had been established.

"It is encouraging that the application was accepted. It had been returned twice and we had to finalize it," the director of the picture gallary said.
