Readers donate over 2,000 books in Penza since beginning of year

Penza, 11 October 2018. PenzaNews. Readers have donated to the libraries of Penza more than 2,000 books since the beginning of 2018, other 270 books were received from the diocese, 151 – from deputies. This was said by editor of the organizational and methodological department of the V.G. Belinsky Central Municipal Public Library Elena Lobankina.

She explained that the reception of literature for children and adults was organized in the framework of permanent campaign Present a Book to the Library.
"These are local campaigns. This or that library has its active readers – this is especially true for libraries located in residential areas. When children grow up, books remain. This is how literature for children gets to our library, this is a collection of books from Penza reading families. "If we talk about adult literature, nowadays many sort out their parents' libraries and sometimes throw away bookcases full of books," the interlocutor explained.
Elena Lobankina added that the latest acquisitions included books presented by local writers and poets, namely a collection of poems "The Kingdom of Semolina" by Olga Korshunova, the books "Seekers of Happiness" and "Light of Joy" by Olga Slepova and others.
