Its opening is timed to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the historian and the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Penza memorial museum, which contains exhibits relating to his life and work.
According to museum director Alexander Pleshkov, very few of Vasiliy Klyuchevsky's personal belongings remained.
“The most valuable exhibit is a teapot holder with a teaspoon. The museum received it 10 years ago. This relic was presented by Raisa Alexandrovna Kireeva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, who is a major specialist in the creative heritage of Klyuchevsky and a scientific adviser to our museum,” he said.
The presentation of the updated exposition took place at a meeting of the Nasledie Club, whose participants shared their stories about how they began to study works of the outstanding compatriot and what discoveries they made.
At the end of the event, a solemn cancellation of an unmarked postcard and envelopes dedicated to the anniversary date took place.
