Penza, 19 July 2011. PenzaNews. Average salary is 15 thousand 53 rubles in the Penza region in January – May, 2011. On Tuesday, on July, 19th Olga Fedoseyev, the head of department of economy of region informed about it while summarizing  social and economic development of the region in the first half of the year.

Olga Fedoseyev said: "Growth of average salary has made 12.1 %, the growth of real salary is 1.2 %".

According to the head of department 8.3 thousand unemployed are officially registered in the Penza region but their number is decreasing constantly.

Olga Fedoseyeva said: "22 billion rubles of investments were spent for social and economic development of region it's 30 % more than for the similar period of last year. It is planned that in December the total amount of investments will make 54 billion rubles".

She has noted also the growth of an index of industrial production.

The head of department of economy said: "The industrial production index in the Penza region in the first half of the year of current year makes 116.9 %. The given indicator is second in Volga federal district. In 2010 the index equaled 115.5 % in Penza".

Olga Fedoseyev underlined that the average index in the Russian Federation is 105.3 %.

Olga Fedoseyev summarized: "Growth is caused by considerable modernization of the enterprises and modernization of manufactures, formation of great volumes of orders, and also growing competitiveness".
