Penza, 19 October 2011. PenzaNews. Agreement signing between the government of the Penza region and the government of Lombardy area of the Italian Republic took place in Milan on Tuesday, October, 18th.

According to the press-service of the regional government, the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev and the president of the area Lombardy Roberto Formigoni signed the agreement.

The governor Vasily Bochkarev said: "Today the modernization and technological re-equipment is actively held at the Penza enterprises. One part of the mounted equipment was made in Italy. We offer to organize the joint Russian-Italian enterprise for equipment manufacturing on the territory of the Penza region and invite Italian design engineers and technologists. I'm sure that this project will be interesting for Italian and Penza business".

According to the agreement the parties promote development and expansion of trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation on basis of equality, partnership and mutual benefit taking into account interests of both parties. Agriculture, the food-processing industry, mechanical engineering, light industry and building industry are the main spheres of cooperation.

The press-service said: "Representative offices will be opened on the territory of the Penza region of the Russian Federation and in Lombardy in the Italian Republic to coordinate trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation".
