Penza, 10 November 2011. PenzaNews. Building of underground storage of gas was started in Spassky area of the Penza region on Thursday, November, 10th.

According to the press-service of the regional government, land registration, clearing of the site and building of access roads has been done since June. A total cost of the object is 60 billion rubles.

New compressor station of 30 Mega watt, gas saving and gas storages, drilling and connection of 127 operational chinks will be built as a part of this project.

The gasholder will be included into the number of the largest objects of storage of gas in Russia and become one of main ones for solving seasonal problems of non-uniformity of consumption of gas in the central part of the country. Besides, underground gas storage will be involved in export of gas, in particular to the gas pipeline “Northern stream”.
