Penza, 16 December 2011. PenzaNews. The director of macroregional branch “Volga” of LLC “Rostelecom” Dmitry Proskura said that the Penza region is one of leaders in the Volga Federal district in introducing electronic state services. He informed about it during the inter-regional conference “Information society 2011”. “Rostelecom”, was one of the organized of the conference on Thursday, December, 15th.

Dmitry Proskura said: “In January of the next year 50 state services will be provided in the electronic form in the region. In Marias-El republic there are only 3 services, in Orenburg — 22, in Saratov — 38, in Udmurtiya — 34, in Mordovia — 28”.

During the conference LLC “Rostelecom” made the presentation as the federal operator of electronic government. There were some “round tables” concerning “Informatization of housing communal services”, “System 112” and “Safe city”, “Transfer and rendering the services in electronic form”.

The assistant of the plenipotentiary of the president of Russia in the Volga federal district Michael Kosoy explained why Penza had been chosen for the conference.

He said: “The development of information technology in the region depends on personal interest of the first persons. In the Penza region the governor made the decision about the priority the development of information technologies in the region. It is very pleasant such poor region managed to realize many projects. Business environment was created, fair discussions were held”.

The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev admitted that it’s necessity of creation of the electronic government and information society.

The governor said: “We want each village have high-speed Internet access. I think that the next years the residents of the most remote villages will get access to high-speed Internet. Not only young men but the senior generation wants this”.
