Penza, 17 April 2012. PenzaNews. JSC SMARTS together with Research and Training Institute Radio Federal State Unitary Enterprise and Ericsson company finished LTE network testing in a range of 1800 MHz in Ufa.

“Results of tests proved possibility of simultaneous functioning of LTE and GSM networks without communication deterioration for SMARTS subscribers. The total report will be presented in the end of June, 2012,” reported in the company press service.

During the test program LTE network showed steady work in a range of 1800 MHz even at distance of several kilometers from base stations, thus the communication quality in the GSM network essentially didn't change.

“It practically means possibility of use of infrastructure of the existing GSM network for development of the LTE technology and obtaining guaranteed stable high speed of data transmission even with the minimum frequency resource,” specified in the press service.

Such approach allows to optimize number of base stations, and as a whole demands smaller temporary and financial expenses.

“Last year we finished in Penza construction of fiber-optical communication line over 100 km, having provided subscribers Internet access possibility on the basis of LTE. Construction of the LTE networks in a range of 1800 MHz will allow to increase essentially volumes of providing high-speed services to subscribers,” said the technical director of the company of SMARTS “Penza-GSM” Roman Klopyzhnikov.

According to him, the main advantage of LTE is the high speed of data transmission reaching 100 Mbps declared by a standard.

“It’s approximately 20 times quicker than standard "wire" Internet access. Besides, high-speed access to the Network can use everywhere where the signal of the cellular operator is caught. By calculations, capacity will suffice even for live broadcast of HD video,” added Roman Klopyzhnikov.
