Penza region went up in rating of innovative activity

Penza, 25 June 2012. PenzaNews. During 2011 the Penza region has significantly risen in the rating of innovative activity among other entities of the Russian Federation, compiled by the National Association of innovation and development of information technology (NAIDIT). This was declared by the chairman of the regional government Yuri Krivov at a press conference on Monday, June 25. “Within a year the Penza region has moved from 14th to 10th position in the Russian rating, leaving behind the Moscow, Saratov and Tyumen regions,” clarified Yuri Krivov.

According to the new rating, compiled by NAIDIT, only Moscow is currently in the zone of very high innovation activity, another 16 regions are found in a high zone.

“The Penza region firmly holds its position in the middle of the second zone, and is gradually moving up,” stated Yuri Krivov. “I believe that such a successful result was achieved in our region due to the serious work for establishing infrastructure for small business innovation,” he concluded.

According to NAIDIT Rating Tatarstan takes 2nd place, the Nizhny Novgorod region – 4th place, the Samara region – 6th place, Bashkortostan – 8th place, the Saratov region – 13th place , the Perm region – 21st place, the Ulyanovsk region – 25th place, Chuvashia – 34th place, Udmurtia – 38th place, Mordovia – 48th place, the Kirov region – 55th place, the Orenburg region – 56th, Mari El – 68th place.
