Hatchery for turkey meat production placed in operation in Penza region

Penza, 19 July 2012. PenzaNews. The opening ceremony of the hatchery of “Damate” company was held in Kolyshleysky district, the Penza region on Thursday, July 19.

The hatchery designed for up to 1,8 million eggs a year became the first facility of the enterprise, placed in operation within the project for turkey meat production with capacity of 15 tons of final product per year. The entire facility project will be implemented in stages during 2012. It will create around 500 new jobs for Penza citizens.
General Director of “Damate” Rimantas Matskevichyus explained that the eggs in the hatchery are imported from Canada.
“Upon the arrival the eggs are weighed, sorted and packed in the hatching trays on trolleys, which are then processed with formaldehyde. After that, the eggs are moved into the incubation room, the process takes about 25 days. After that the trolleys are moved to the room where within 3 days the chicks are hatched,” reported Rimantas Matskevichyus.
“Total project investment is over 7,4 billion rubles,” noted the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Sector.
