Penza Airport held negotiations with the largest air carrier in the Central Federal District of Russia, Voronezh Joint-Stock Company “Airline “Polet,” on cooperation in the passengers transportation from Moscow “Domodedovo” to Penza and back. “Airline “Polet” is now trying to agree on performing flights in Sweden aircraft “Saab 340.” By prior arrangement, the flights will be performed four days a week: on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. This is a so-called “average” flight. Departure from Moscow is scheduled at 12.00, from Penza — at 15.00,” clarified Yuri Oskolkov.

He outlined the reasons for negotiations with JSC “Airline “Polet,” but stressed that it has no relation to the recent frequent flight delays of the airport’s single partner, JSC “Ak Bars Aero.”

“There are several reasons. Firstly, the increased demand by almost 1,5 times compared to the last year for transportation from the airport of Penza, and secondly, the competition in this market, which is to lower the prices. We currently have a partner, but negotiations with Voronezh airline began not yesterday, and not after flight delays,” said the agency interlocutor.

In addition, Yuri Oskolkov noted that in the long term another airline is to begin operating in Penza, “Airline “Siberia,” also known as “S7 Airlines.”

“Cooperation with “Siberia” will not only enable us to include new routes in the schedule of flights from Penza, but also to prepare and train the crew according to the flight program of the third largest Russian airline. Moreover, we are discussing a question of flights abroad,” stated the director of the Penza Airport.
