About 3,5% of grain crops gathered in Penza region

Penza, 26 July 2012. PenzaNews. 22 thousand hectares of grain crops, which is about 3,5% of the total harvest area were worked up in the Penza region by the end of July. This was announced by the minister of agriculture of the region Ivan Firyulin during a press conference on Thursday, July 26. “The first to gather the crops were the areas in the east of the region,” noted the minister.

According to him, the rate of productivity in the farm industries varies from 8 to 35 quintals per hectare of winter crops and in average 13 quintals per hectare of spring crops.
“It means that despite the weather conditions, the main importance in crop production is following the technology. Those who understand this are gathering quite a big harvest,” said Ivan Firyulin.
According to the minister, the results of the harvesting period in the Penza region shows that the farmers will be able to thresh 1 million tons of grain.
