The main topic of discussion during the event with representatives from the government and business has become issues of salary raise for construction industry professionals, as well as attracting young specialists.

According to the head of the regional department of urban planning Alexander Grishaev, the regional economy involves now more than 30 thousand construction specialists with salary of 25 thousand rubles.

“However, this figure is average for the region, and in some organizations the salary of such specialists is extremely low,” he stressed.

In addition, the official pointed out that the salary indicated in the applications of employers for masons and excavator operators, the vacancies of which are represented in the department of labor, employment and labor migration is unacceptable — from 4,5 to 6 thousand rubles.

“There is no doubt that the job with such low salary is unclaimed by the local specialists, and businesses in the area are forced to hire construction workers from Central Asia or the Caucasus,” said Alexander Grishaev.

According to the head of the department of labor, employment and labor migration of the Penza region Elena Kosnikova, the upcoming 2013 will be a record for the region in the requested quota for foreign labor.

“A year earlier the need in the specialist of this field was experienced by only 11 Penza organizations; the vacancy applications for 2013 have already been submitted by 41 organizations. The governor was forced to sign a document for submission of information to the government of the Russian Federation in connection with the forthcoming celebration of the 350th anniversary of Penza and the availability of a huge number of vacancies at the anniversary construction sites,” she explained.

“After the celebration we shall not be granted with such a quota, and we’'ll just have to bring up our own personnel for the construction industry and offer them high-paid job,” added the head of department.
