Penza, 20 August 2012. PenzaNews. Rostelecom company completes rebranding of its mobile assets: from September 17, mobile communications services provided by NSS in seven regions of the Volga region will be provided under a single federal brand Rostelecom.
“Rebranding is the exposed side of a major program to integrate mobile assets of Rostelecom. Consolidating the assets, the company strives to keep the best of what has been done at the local level. Moreover, the transition to the national brand will allow the customers in different regions to feel as subscribers of a single large company,” the press service of Rostelecom told news agency “PenzaNews.”
It is expected that the consolidation of the assets and subscribers’ bases will provide affiliated companies and their subscribers with new opportunities and benefits: they will get more resources for network development and introduction of modern technologies, will be able to quickly expand the coverage area and improve the quality of services.
“The big advantage of the association is the opportunity to use the license portfolio of subsidiaries, including Sky Link, for the construction of networking of new standards. Until the end of this year, Rostelecom plans to launch 3G network in at least four regions and in 2013 — in more than twenty regions. The next key stage in the development of the business is creation of LTE (4G) networks, the license for which the company won in July 2012,” said the press service.
In general, Rostelecom intends to develop modern multi-standard mobile phone networks, which would combine the advantages of all generations: 2G, 3G and 4G, to provide customers with not only high-quality voice communications, but also high-speed mobile Internet access.
