68% of grain and leguminous crops harvest collected in Penza region

Penza, 22 August 2012. PenzaNews. Harvest of grain and leguminous crops in the Penza region was collected from 68% of sown areas as of Wednesday, August 22.

“591,147 tons of grain were milled. The average yield is 1,420 kg per hectare,” said the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Penza region.

The press service also added that sugar beets harvesting began in the fields of Bekovsky, Kamensky and Kolyshleysky areas of the Penza region.

“Currently, beet is collected from one thousand acres. All in all, about 58 hectares are planted with beet,” the press service explained.
