Dutch poultry and eggs placed under embargo in Penza region

Penza, 4 September 2012. PenzaNews. Temporary importing restrictions for poultry and poultry products from the Netherlands are introduced in the Penza region in connection with outbreaks of avian influenza in the European country.

“Due to the cases of avian influenza, subtype H7N7 in the Dutch provinces of Limburg and Utrecht, temporary restrictions were introduced for import of live poultry, hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry and all types of poultry products without thermal treatment, forage and fodder additives for poultry, as well as equipment used for maintenance, slaughter and butchering of poultry from these provinces,” the regional department of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision said.

The department stressed that many enterprises in the Penza region imported poultry, hatching eggs, equipment for poultry maintenance and slaughter from abroad.
